My parents were here! Part 2

We gave our parents the tour of our area in Ambrym while they were here so they got to see our regular haunts.

Walking through the plantation near our village.
And a guy walks by with a live pig on his back.
At the sand beach about 20 minutes walk from our house.

Chief Joseph let us take pics and showed us his tamtams.  He has the (hereditary) rights to carve up to 5 faces on his tamtams.
Making it work with pretty rough tools.

Fresh water spring near our village.  It used to be a hot spring but hasn't been hot the last few decades or so.

Gwen demonstrating the hidden food in a sprout of a coconut.
Addy demonstrating how to whack it open.

 Tied up in knots.
Jesiah likes to do this trick of being eaten by the tree.
The season for yellow fin tuna!
Oh the gore!  These things bleed more than anything I've seen.  But we caught a lot which is awesome cuz our driver volunteers for us and just takes home the spoils in fish.
Addy riding on the front of the boat with Philip.

I had hoped to load all the pictures of my parents' visit, but only had time up through their time in Ambrym.  Hopefully next time we're out of the village I can add more.  They have returned safely back to the US and we have a work team here now about to get to work on the house in Ambrym again!
